good question
Well if you have seen my other posts I’m having a engine put in my truck it’s a 1094 4.0 ford ranger the old engine needed alot of help and it leaked alot really bad but then head gaskets went out on it so i decided instead of having the 1600 bare minimum shop quote 1600 my price from working there it would be almost 2500 standard pricing they cut my labor rate in half. for headgaskets I went with the used engine route say what you want I know it’s risky but I’m 17 on a tight budget and I won’t ask for a loan from anybody I have too much pride, anyways here’s some pictures of the process.

Good luck with the swap!

Awesome, happy you found a replacement engine. IMO a used engine is a better option than a remanufactured engine. Those look shiny on the outside but Id bet 99% of them have issues (even the ones that seemingly run good).

That is totally awesome!
Excuse the expression, but you got some bigguns.
More than I had at your age.

Well I’m not doing the work if I could have done it in the parents garage I would but time and I just don’t have the resources for it. Thank you thought, I’ve done a lot of work on this truck my self though

Yeah I looked around for reman engines and there 3500 almost more then what I paid for the truck
