I have a 93 ranger splash with the 4.0 and i was looking at my local craigslist and i saw these http://maine.craigslist.org/pts/796659890.html and i really like these rims and i asked at my local junkyard and they want 85 a piece and 4 for 50 is a steal so i was wondering if these still have the 5x4.5 bolt pattern that my ranger has.

thanks,
Rusty

Lug pattern is the same, mustangs from 94 on up have 5 on 4.5 bolt circle.

Just drove about a hour and a half and picked up the rims, they need a good cleaning but 50 bucks for 4 mustang rims I didn't think it was too bad of a deal
:) :)

I will have pictures up later.

I don't think i will need spacers to run these rims becasue of what i read on the mustang wheel sticky at the top.

I am thinking about running a 255/55/15 tire on these rims. Does anybody know if they will rub anything on the ranger? Im pretty sure they will fit since the guy before me had 235/60/15 on the rims.

ttt

thanks,
Rusty

anyway back to my ?. i got the tires mounted and the all fit fine with no rubbing. The rear centers caps fit fine. The fronts didn't so i gently pounded in my spindle cover things but that didn't get enough clearance so I was wondering how much wheel spacer will I need to get the front caps to fit tight. I wouldn't think to much prob like 1/4 inch. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks Rusty

anybody know about the spacers or have comments about my truck

they will bolt up since there the same bolt pattern but idk about the offset. Im not very good with that stuff. My wheels are sucked in the fenders about a inch, I need wheel spacers to bring the wheels out to put my center caps on

btw those wheels would looks sick

i think ive heard people running a 1/4 inch spacer on mustang rims to bring them out level with the fenders

i put 1996 17'' cobra rims on my 93 with no backspacing and they fit perfectly but i am not sure about the newer trucks or mustang rims

hmmmm 1/4 inch wheel spacers. If i got the kind that just slid on over the studs then wheel pushed against that could i still use my factory lug nuts?

thanks guys

93splash

could i just get 2 of these and slide those on over my studs then put my wheels on. its a lil thicker then the 1/4 ones but i wouldnt mind the extra width? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHEE...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

yes those should be fine. just make sure you lug nuts are "acorn" style nuts. they have a dish that seats into the rim to keep the wheel centered on the lugs. then you should be good to roll

black widow- yea i do have acorn style lug nuts so that should work. do you guys think that 5/16s would be enough to clean the center caps.

FooLee- No mods huh- that's weird. On my 93 my rear caps fit fine but the fronts like snap on but not tight and i would be worried about losing them. What drop do you have you your truck? looks good

I bought the truck from a dealer auto auction. From what I can tell its a 5/4 drop. For sure I have 3" Beltech drop beams and a 4" drop leaf. I'm 99% sure that it's has 2" beltech drop springs as well. There is no sign of being cut/heated. At the woodstock meet lastyear I was as low as everyone else that had a 5/4 drop. As for the caps they are on solid, they have a metal ring that snaps in there is no way they are coming off. Keep in mind that my truck is a 97' and in 95' they changed the spindle design because ford started putting explorer dual piston calipers on rangers. I also have the larger brakes so that could be why I can run without spacers on these rims. I was told by a local RPS'er that later model rangers have lower profile dust caps. Hit up a boneyard for some 95'-97' spindle and dual piston calipers, and compare dust caps on different years while you are there. :icon_cheers:
