Chevy has always wondered why the mustang was 500% more popular than their ugh camaro. the reason is simple. look in the classifieds, craigslist, ebay, wherever. And Im sure you can attest to this here R1, were from basically the same area, look at the mustang ads, most ads you see for any body style stag, manual trans, whereas 99.999999999999999999999999999999999% of the camaro and trans ams, which i LOVE trans ams but HATE, DESPISE, LOATHE and any other strong word you can think of for a nasty assed camaro, are automatic. why? so you can drive and comb your mullet at the same time and so ricky dont wonder "now whyd they put 3 pedals in that thang?" and so he can smoke the 30 inch rear tires without "havin ta worry about my trick knee that i done busted up when my wife/cousin/sister done chased me with the rollin pin fer a makin fun o her curlers and i felled down in the newly dug outhouse hole. whooo-eee we done a moved up to the big time with the addition of a 'hers' side on the outhouse."
hell 0.97G, almost 1G for lateral aceleration, thats awesome.
Amazing, considering it was best in lateral acceleration yet was the only one with a solid rear axle! It's incredible what Ford can do with a solid rear axle.
Well, I know of several that are runnig prepared Mustangs for road courses and they seem to be doing good! One would be Jack Roush Jr who actually does race. They were running the 5.0 based on the early 4.6 in several series for the last year and doing good. Don't get fooled by that solid rear end, they have done some good design work on it. Here is the new GT-500 knocking off 8 sec quicker time at VIR from the previous 2.58 sec lap times. Love to ride shotgun with one of these guys! Anyway, fun to watch.

I can't remember which years but the Camero was actually faster in the 1/4 and had more power but the Mustang still out sold it. Mustang had better aftermarket support and a lot easier to work on. Heard horror stories of how hard is was to pull them Cheby motors.
