more rat rod mod ideas

If much about rat rods but that things pretty clean. Also thought id let you know to keep a spare can of bed liner around. Mine wore off in about 5 months. Not daily driving. Probably 1-2k miles.

Little bit of drop, flat black and some nice pin stripes.

Best advice, Google rat rods and let your mind and budget be your limit.

+1

Well done rat rods are an art form far above making it look like a neglected POS with primer and missing bodyparts.

I think the easiest and best mod you can do is to get a set of steel rims painted a deep gloss red (or blue, or whatever color) with full chrome plated baby moon hubcaps. maybe even matching full chrome plated beauty rings. Tires can be whitewall or raised white letters. The rims you have on the truck right now can give you an idea of what I am talking about, but to pull off the ratrod look, you want the style of rims that is from the 50's through the 70's, as yours are too modern looking.

Another idea is to get an older style grille that you can shape and fit in place of the current one. A member on here (copycat I think) had a good example of this on his b2, it looked like an early bronco grille, even had the round headlights. someone else on here had a set of 70's era F150 tail lights set into his ranger bed, looked awesome. Can't remember his name, but I do remember the truck caught on fire :(

Have fun with it, and post pics :)

Best grill mod I like on a gen1 ranger is the old 1956 ford f100 grill:
here is one on a Bronco....trying to find the one on a truck

An old metal mailbox screwed to the hood will give the effect of a hood scoop. Leave the door on so you can close it when you don't need the extra boost of power.... :)

Or when it rains :D

The wheel treatment was real fine looking. Letting in the F 100 is genius. The Ranger's BOF construction makes chassis mods easier
