Morana V6 Racing parts

nothing personal but i wouldnt buy that kit, theres a lot up in the air about it, who makes the turbo? what pressure range does it fit? what rpm range is it designed for? theres no specifics on it and sizing a turbo based on application is always best. hell we dont even know what if it will even work on a ranger. it just says t3/t4 if its a hybrid and pushes that amount youd need a hell of an engine to run that thing. granted it could be turned down but if it has a high amount of compression you could make it unusable until you hit 4k rpm up and maybe see a 75 hp boost if that. it just looks too good to be true is what im saying, you dont just throw a turbo together, lots of planning is involved, im sorry i dont believe that this kit is the answer.

i don't think there's anything wrong with that kit. how many companies make turbos anyway? i've never heard of such a thing as a cheap chinese turbo. if they just can't guarantee which brand of turbo you'll end up getting that makes sense. it's really not that cheap and it has all the parts minus the manifold.

that is a universal kit. it will not be a direct bolt on. he only put "ranger" and "probe" in the description to lure you in. if you click on his other items for sale, youll see he has the same kit listed for acuras, hondas, hyundais, mazdas, BMWs...and so on.

but the T3/t4 turbo is perfectly sized for a 3.0 liter engine. that would probably be a good starter kit.

as the description says, the wastegate is set at 7 PSI (not 75 psi :icon_confused:).

idk id still be leery of it, there are just too many variables that arent there to consider. i personally have never built a turbo anything but if i was to start id do the math and get what i needed for the application. i agree the t3/t4 hybrid turbo is a good size for the application but something tells me its not what i would need. here again until i see it installed im in the blind. not a bad price tho for everything there i do agree w/ that.

the t3/t4 is one of the most common turbos to use on lower displacement engines. its been used on vulcans in the past (check the turbo probe crowd). i believe turbo cat is running one on his 4.0.

there are compressor maps for the t3 available everywhere on the internet.

idk maybe i just like to have all the info on what im buying b4 i spend my hard earned, ive been skrewd a good many times b4 so im leery when it comes to ordering such stuff. well if he decides to get it and try it cheers, let us know how it worked out! :icon_cheers:
