I have a 1988 ford ranger xlt 2.9l v6 automatic 4x4. The issue is around 2200 to 2500 rpm the engine decides to spit sputter n missfire. The tach goes crazy and the engine boggs down. It doesn't like when you demand power either. The truck will sit and idle for hours without a missed beat. Parts I've replaced are as follows. New iac, tps, 6 icms, intake air temp sensor, distributor, map sensor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, 2 coils, relays, fuses, pigtails, spout plug, ignition switch, ecm, replaced all grounds and still cannot get it to take a bottle of act right. Seafoam injector cleaner and throttle body cleaner, oil change, alternator, fusible links. Next step is to rip that v6 efi junk out n drop in a 302 4bbl and fix ford's mistake. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I answered ya in the other post you made.

But one thing i just thought of...what color is the ignition module youre using?

The only one offered that year Grey they didn't use black until later on
I know thats why i asked. Alot of people come on here and think the case color dont matter lol

Well I've been doing a ton of research and reading up on this issue checking everything I'm at a loss here on this one
Did you check the wires inside the coil plug like i suggested in your other post?

Yes the plug is new coil is new and there's 12 volts on the positive with key on and also coil primary and secondary ohms out within specs
