Mike's '93 4x4

Yeah Zook! I rode a heavily modified RM 125 for quite some time. :icon_thumby:

I love me Suzuki, it has been a great bike for me so far and now it's going to be even better!

So with this cold weather the truck completely destroyed the thermostat housing gasket. I'm back in the Focus until I change it Saturday.

Well... looks like things were a little bit different than expected today.

Turns out the PO installed the thermostat wrong, the o-ring was folded over on one side. Guess it held together fine until the weather got cold and the coolant expanded a little. I put in a new Motorcraft gasket with the o-ring and all is well. It's a bit of a pain to get at the bolt behind the tensioner but some creative wrench work and all was done smoothly without hiccup.

I also washed my truck for only the third time since I bought it and I took the chance to mount the plate multi sent me the way I wanted.

Today was a pretty successful day for Jammer.

Thanks boys, but the credit does have to go to Mr. multiranger for sending it up to me all the way from Georgia.

Well the green bastard has another coolant leak. All that's really left is the timing cover gasket. I'm just going to nurse it until Saturday then put some dye in it.

I have seen the seal on the 4L waterpump go bad to where the coolant appears to come out on the back side of the pump... Seen one where the fan and water pump shaft both went through the radiator... I think I may have air in Shelby's cooling system or a bad thermostat... She seems to get hotter at times like air is moving around??:dunno: I put 195 stat in her I think.. It may be even hotter as I can't remember... What degree would you recommend?

The truck got a brand new water pump & gasket, the coolant doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere specific, it's just all over the front of the engine:dunno:

I run a 195 in the 93, it's the OEM stat and I see no reason to stray from that in my application. An air pocket may be likely but our trucks typically resolve themselves pretty nicely. Do you notice your level down in the rad at all?

Nope it stays level.. Sometimes I'll look down and it seems to be hotter than normal on the gauge... Sitting in traffic last weekend made it come up too. until I changed the stat a few months ago it seemed to stay put.
