Mike's '93 4x4

Up here with only 4 FM stations I'm sure I can pick one and never cross a signal with anyone:D

I have basically the same thing, Mike. The one I have has a signal interrupter and a direct input into the antenna port, with a splitter to use to factory antenna as well. Mine doesn't get interrupted by signal cross.

Yeah this one has a toggle switch of some sort and a bunch of other wiring. More stuff I've stuck in the box of stereo stuff basically.

Then it should have an interupter as well.

That's what I'm seeing in the instructions.

So fun stuff today, had a bit of a cold snap. No big deal, the old 4.) starts like a champ. Bit of square tire syndrome with the MTR-K's though. The real fun began when I decided to put it in 4x4, looks like the PO filled up the front diff with conventional. Nothing like locking in the hubs in this weather to find the truck fighting a giant sludge ball to move forward. New job for tomorrow, switch the front diff over to synthetic. I know the rear is already because when Gerry did my rear brakes, he noticed the axles seals were leaking, then when he popped the diff cover he noticed the crosspin bolt was broken. That was quite the bill, but it was nice coming back home to a fixed right up truck. Man, that was some time ago...

Well I had a successful day wrenching today. Did an oil change in the work truck and installed a pan heater on it. Hopefully it should start up easier on Monday for the parts driver.

Then I brought in my truck and did an oil change on it. Went from the high capacity filter to an FL-1-HP. Basically a high performance version of the FL-1-A our trucks normally call for. After I had done the oil change I used a suction gun to pull out all the old front diff fluid. No metal shavings but it looked like a little water had gotten in. So now I have synthetic 75W140 front and rear of my truck. Made a huge noticeable difference, I recommend it to everyone. After that I just double checked all my fluid levels, and topped up the coolant since I replaced the rad. Spent a little time cleaning up the inside of the truck to make life more enjoyable for my passengers:D

Still need to install my stereo but I'm getting right to that point fast. Keep checking in and feel free to comment up!

Pan heater?????

I thought I was gonna afta run an aux. a/c duct to my radiator yesterday.....:icon_rofl:

Ahh DG, you and your all year summer:D

Ew, all year summer?? Where's the snow?!? :D

So at work right now we are in the middle of some renovations. There is the old set of shelves beside the battery charger with some manuals on it. I start flipping through them and start thinking how funny it would be to find on my vintage. Next manual I pull out, 1993 Light Truck Parts & Illustrations Guide. How perfect is that!

Nice, get your part number fix. :D

I'm more in it for the diagrams:D

So after much BSing back and forth me and dad finally took the two rigs out to that extension road. It started out pretty shallow then got deep pretty fast. I hit the pavement once thinking I would catch traction when I got down there but it was frozen solid and glare ice:D

Luckily enough one of my buddies tagged along with a camera to take some shots.

The two rigs.

And of course, like any venture, it turned into a little drifting session:headbang:
