Feel free to come up and help John, I'll have some brews chilling:D

You too Andres:icon_twisted:

In all seriousness if the shop stays open a little later tomorrow night that's when I'm doing it, if not then Saturday for sure. Talked to my co-worker and he's still game to work out a deal on my stereo install. I'm going to pick up a cheap walmart sub box until I get around to building my ultimate center console.

:temper:

Stupid aftermarket shit!

So I wheel the truck in after work today to change the rad. The old ones comes out smoothly, the new one drops perfectly in place, I put the new rad hoses on without a hitch and then... FACK! The trans cooler line fittings are different. What the hell! They don't thread together. Josh suggests I drop my old rad back in for now, I say to hell with that. So I use the forklift to push my truck outside across the lot into the service parking and that's where it's staying until I figure this damn thread issue out. I may have to cut the flares off, find the fittings I need and reflare the lines. I'm not taking that damn thing out again.

:annoyed:

you sure it is the threads????

on my new rad I had to swap the fitting that stayed in the rad over to my new one.....

also, if they aren't lined up Just Perfect.....it is really hard to get them started.....

It's the fittings, the lines on the truck have about an 1/8th inch spot of nothing before the threads begin. I tried to swap the rad ends over but the ones in the original rad would not budge. I'm going to look at it a bit again tomorrow.

Woo! Got the fittings issue solved. Turns out the fittings were too perfect if you believe that. The ones on the rad had the first two threads rounded off while the new rad had the threads cut all the way to the end. Talking to my co-worker today he grabbed a "T" from one of the drawers and noticed that both fittings were the same, so we took a closer look and saw it right away. A little bit of emery cloth solved that and I went and put them back in the rad in the lot with some PFTE sealant. Going to vacuum fill the system tomorrow after work then I'm hitting up the snowy road that's calling my name this weekend.

It was pretty damn hard actually:thefinger:

Should be a hoot, there is about a solid foot of snow on this road. Not to far from anything, and it's paved underneath so I know there are no obstacles. They are expanding the area across from the airport so they built the road last year and sold no lots on it yet so it's all empty and unmaintained:D

I love me some snow wheeling! unmaintained roads are the best, but the ditches are usually pretty deep so you gotta slide it just right around those corners!:3gears:

Truck is in the drivewas as we speak. Cooling system vacuum filled to the brim. Felt good to be home:D

good stuff buddy. any little parts you want from rangebe ? I feel like I need part of her to live on...

Not that I can think of Nate, thanks for the offer though.

So today while wandering around Canadian Tire I picked up a flyer and saw something I just couldn't pass up. It's a kit to wire your iPod in to your stereo system, basically for stereos without an AUX input it makes the iPod a radio station. This will allow me to use the stereo Andres gave me and not have to bother upgrading later on.

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/p...older_id=1408474396672395&bmUID=1294895916186

On sale for $60, saves me having to buy a stereo.

I run one of those in the work truck for my blackberry. Be warned, a lot of XM radios work along the same principal and of course so does everybody else that doesn't want to install an actual stereo.

Get ready to listen to their music for a couple seconds when they drive by and the signals cross. Other than that, I love it. :icon_thumby:
