Nice ride Boggin.

Hey Mike, quick question. How big in diameter were those washers you got to level the truck, and what is the diameter of the inside hole, do you remember?

Yep. 1-3/8" ID, 3" OD Grade 5 washers.

So I pulled off my drum to take a look at it, it need them. And I also saw this truck also has a leaf spring held together with a hose clamp. My second truck with a broken leaf spring, this is a bill I didn't need. Although this time I am not going with the load springs. They made the truck way to stiff and way to slanted.

I can't believe how alike our two trucks where. I have a fix-it list about a mile long that I've built up over the last 6 months. I should have created one of these threads too :)

One of my rear shackles was busted and resting against the truck bed. Just one of many things I've found broken or jerry-rigged together on this truck of mine.

Same color too

Thanks Mike! While you're at it and already need new leaves, just go with Chebby springs.

Even more than you think:D, it's an American truck to so I need to put some DRL's on it.

I have been thinking about it but I can't justify the price difference, at least not now anyways. Plus with the shackles the rear would be way to lifted. Maybe later on down the road when it's already passed safety.

63" chevy leaf springs from any 88 - 98 chevy half ton 2wd or 4wd truck, from a junkyard around here, i got a set for 90 bucks.

So the chevy leafs give you approx 1.5" of lift (minus the big fat overload leaf)
The lift shackles give you approx 1.5" of lift
Your stock blocks are what, 1.5 or 2" tall, depending on which config you want to use, it wouldn't be too much lift and you would get alot more flex with those chevies. Just putting the info out there. Easy to swap too.

Well the main issues are these: Junkyards here are overpriced, that will lift the back up way higher that the front and I can't afford to lift the front anymore. Plus I really don't want to take the box off. Maybe later on down the road I will do it and just get the front of a 4" lift kit.

But on a good note the same place I bought my leaf springs from for "Spinny" can rebuild both of these, put in new middles leaves and and re-arch them for a touch more lift for $200. That's for both sides so I feel a lot better now.

Got my grille guard on, it kicks back because it is designed for a truck without a body lift so it hits on the frame at the bottom but a little cutting will fix that right up. I like it.

I also put on some actual mirror glass, held on with RTV.
