I figured a picture of a Regular non-broken Ranger mirror would be extremely unexciting so I took a pic while the RTV dried.

when did you break the windshield?

It was broken when I got the truck, the P.O. apparently used to be a bouncer at some point so he made some enemies... drunk enemies. You can't see it but the passenger side is all spidered from someone with a bat.

Also in the win category, the tailgate no longer rubs on the crumpled bedside when I open it, BFH FTW!

Nice truck man. I love reading threads where these trucks are being fixed up. Thanks for posting pics too. I'm looking to get a 4x4 project Ranger too, possibly even a b2. Good luck with your project. Looks like it's coming along quite well.

Oh well, I got me a windshield for $90 anyway. :D
 
Got my grille guard on, it kicks back because it is designed for a truck without a body lift so it hits on the frame at the bottom but a little cutting will fix that right up. I like it.

Or can you slot the holes? how bout a strong BFP (big efffin pipe) and twist the ends to line up with the body?

Thanks multi, that is a really good idea about flipping the end pieces. I'll have to try that. I'm going to snap back to action with the truck and get it down ASAP.

one other thing you may be able to do is drill a new hole close to the old hole on both top and bottom to get the angle you need.. Only if the old holes will be covered up though.. looking at the left side drill the top to the left of the hole and the bottom to the right if that makes sense...

Gearhead talk, I understand what you are saying 100%. But right now I just need to rustle up some more jackstands because I've got to get my leaf springs off ASAP. Take them off, bring them to the spring shop, and while I'm getting them retrofitted I'll put new hangers on. Sounds so damn simple.

I know what you mean.. Went through the dame thing sorta when I dropped mine... Damn I hated those rivits on the hangers...

Any tips? I'm just thinking of busting out the heat wrench and pounding them out. Then using some stubby grade 8 bolts with red loctite to hold them in place.
 
Grind off the rivet with a flapper disc or a grinding disc (flapper is faster though) and pound them out with a punch. Then use some 1/2" x 1" long gr. 8 bolts with washers and lock washers and you're good. Been running my truck like that and had no problems with them coming loose. Red loctite is a good idea though.
