I just bought a 3d cell LED maglite today and am trying to figure out where to mount it inside my truck. Was wanting to see where you guys have yours mounted and if you got any pics of it that would be great too.

on the metal that is part of the drivers seat (under your knees when you sit)

Mounted mine on the floor alongside the driver seat. It's right there (easy access) when you open the door.

did you just drill the mounting bracket straight into the floor or did you have to do any prep work or anything

Got my 4D mounted to the Cpillar plastic w/ 1/8" steel on the backside of the plastic for reinforcement...used machine bolts instead of the screws included in the mounts.

Got my 3AA mounted under my center console lid...

Mounted my 4D on the floor next to my shifter on the passenger side. Still easily accessable but out of my way. I also have a custom floor peice for my shifter though, I removed the plastic thing with the cup holders. I'll get some pics later on.

I like the one under the console lid...that's where I'd put one if I had one...there are several other places I'd look too...like the trim pieces above the rear-view mirror...that's where I hung a replacement mirror on my truck because I couldn't get the glue kit to keep it on the windshield...

where did you find the mounting brackets? i cant find them in a store around here

I think cabela's has them.
Why you guys still using maglites? My cheaper 2AA LED puts out more light then my 2D Maglite. Is the LED maglite better then the normal ones?

That one mounted on the C-pillar? That's going to become a potentially
deadly projectile in any kind of front impact.

As for why use MagLites? They are rugged, reliable and take standard batteries
with the LED bulb they produce more light than the conventional MagLites
while the LED multiplies the battery life by a factor of four.

The LED's are ok, yes there bright but don't seem to cut it like a plan ol maglite,

Oh, yeah...even if that is a metal bracket they can rip loose and fly around pretty quick...I'd put that one in the glove box...

I really need to empty out all the loose change, but here...

That's handy...I usually keep mine in the glove box though...lost count of the number of times I've had to crawl across the hump and knocked something off or broke something in the process...I try to keep everything out of that area...even my coffee cup holder...

why all the small Mag lights. Do they not make the 6D any more. I really wish I knew where mine went too.
