Maglite Mount

I really like that. Mind if I take that idea from you?

Go ahead...that's why I posted it

That one mounted on the C-pillar? That's going to become a potentially
deadly projectile in any kind of front impact.

It does take alot of force to get it out of the brackets....even more to force the lamp back in them as well. Wrecked it last year...the lamp didn't move.

As for why use MagLites? They are rugged, reliable and take standard batteries
with the LED bulb they produce more light than the conventional MagLites
while the LED multiplies the battery life by a factor of four.

All those Mag's in my pic, are ALL LED Maglites.....

why all the small Mag lights. Do they not make the 6D any more. I really wish I knew where mine went too.

they had the 6D at the store but there was no way i was going to carry that thing around. its huge.

ya thats what she said. :yahoo:

Sorry, ya that thing was cool when I was 16. now it would be a pain in the ass. I think that is why i stick with the little led lights

Ive got a 6d and at most times, it is a little long, but to me its like "my gun can blow your entire upper torso off while yours can only give a bullet wound" kind of manly feeling...ish

I used to slide my 3D right in between the center bench and the pass seat. Fit like a glove and never came out even with my shenanigans.

did you just drill the mounting bracket straight into the floor or did you have to do any prep work or anything

I just screwed it down to the floor using some long sheetmetal screws.

They still make the 6D ones. Nice and bright, but like was said, they are a bit big and clunky :icon_twisted:

I just carry a small CR123 flashlight in the center console.

I have Explorer sport seats with the adjustable thigh supports and if you extend the thigh support a 3 D-cell maglight drops into the gap between the seat and the thigh support.

I have an additional MagLite mounted to the floor in the supercab area
behind the drivers seat right next to my CD-Changer
but then again I only have ONE jumpseat in the back of my supercab.
I removed the one on the drivers side because with me driving nobody
was ever going to sit back there.

i just throw mine in the net!!! lol (supercab)

I now have one of those nets...

Mine is only 4" long, but I know how to use it, and when to keep it in my pants...

Hey, I think I just came up with their new slogan...

if i wasnt so sure it would be deleted, i would quote that line in my sig haha

i got my maglite accessory kit today (lenses, mounts, anti roll thingy) and im really liking the idea of mounting it on the floor. will the screws that come with the mount be long enough?

They probably won't be long enough to reach through the padding under the carpet to the floorpan (mine weren't). Just about any sheetmetal screws of the same size (but longer) from the hardware store will work though.
