guess the LED's have changed some. they were a much brighter light, but for a much shorter distance than the Xeon and Krypton bulbs in the old style flashlights. has the range of the LED's increased significantly?

i decided to mount it in front of the cargo net. i actually really like it back there. just reach back and its there.

The LED in my flashlight seems to have a really good range. just as much as anyother flashlight and its really bright too

Maybe it's just my old eyes, but I find the LED lights are actually harder to see detail, except for close range. The light is weird to me because I'm used to the old filament bulbs...but I can read and seem to see things easier with the old style...

The LEDs are great for some things though...like finding bugs...

I keep a 3AAA LED light in my dash, powerful as my 60 lumens light, but a narrower beam. Just something cheap that I'm not worried about breaking or getting stolen.
Lithium batteries work great. Better for cold weather & lasts longer, but costs more $$ compared to normal batteries. Cheaper then the 123a batteries at least.

The best thing about the maglites is you can beat someone up better then the palm size lights.

+1, the LED light is a harsh bluish color, where as a Halogen/Xenon incandescent bulb is more natural color (at least when the batteries are fresh anyway).

I modified a 2D Maglight to fit 7 NiMH rechargeable AA cells and a 6D Xenon bulb. It's almost indistinguishable from the powerful Mag-Charger rechargeable flashlight (maybe a little whiter light even), and still a little smaller. Lasts about 2½ hours at full brightness on one charge .

I wanted one of those mag light mounts

yeah I looked around for one of those mag light mounts but didn't really like anywhere in my truck for it. so I have a secret I want to share with everyone here! THE GLOVEBOX is where I keep my 3cell mag light!!

keeps my truck lookin CLEAN too I don't like boltin on a bunch of crap just cause they make it

Don't get me wrong I love bolting crap on my truck AS long as it looks clean

plus a theif won't see my mag light and know they can use it after they break in to my truck to see to take my stuff and then it

SO just toss the mag light in your glove box and the cash in your pocket why advertise you have a mag light?

theres no way i could fit mine in the glove box. got other stuff in there. and its impossible to see it where it is now so im not worried
