Lowering question

Hey everyone new to this site. I have a 97 single cab short bed that I'm gonna lower. Quick question. In the rear when doing an axle flip can I use a spring perch rather than buying that C bracket flip kit? Sorry if it's a dumb question but why buy parts when I have them sitting in the garage

Yes you can, just weld them on bottom of the axle .

Thanks. Doing this tomorrow (12/11/12) and I'll take pics along the way for anyone else interested in this method. Have the dream beams so I'll be doing that in the front with cut coils as well. Hoping for a 4/6 drop, so probably adding a block in the rear as well. Is that reasonable expectations for what I'm doing? Gonna go lower in the spring time but I can't stand looking at the stock height and don't have cash for a c notch. Baller on a budget

I did 3" cut-coils but the ride was too rough....So I went with DreamBeams---their great! I only lowered the rear 4" & added adjustible air shocks for carrying loads/also good for raising or lowering rear of truck.

Now.....you have to start posting pics of your work as it progresses!

hey everyone. of course I've been running into a few complications since nothing ever goes 100% smooth on this kind of stuff. stay tuned though Ive been talk g lots of pictures! Missing a bushing in one of the dream beams, anyone know where I can get one?
