Don't know where else to post this. I'm getting a loud humming from the front. The faster I go the louder it gets. At 70+ it is deafening. I've checked front diff, tranny, t case every thing has fluid. Tires are not causing it. I'm at a loss. Anybody have this problem?

it might be your wheel bearings, jack up the front and see if your wheel moves, put a hand on top of your tire and one at bottom and see if you can move it. thats what wheel bearings do when there loose hum like a mother @ucker.

I don't have any movement on the tire. It is solid. So now what?

Brakes look good. I had a mechanic here at work listen to it and he said it sounds like it is coming from the tranny. Is this a posibility? I had the tranny rebuilt 4 years ago it had a 1 year warranty so if that's the problem I guess I'm screwed.

I have found something new. If I pull the wheel hard to the left while it is humming it stops. If I pull it to the right it get a little louder. Any ideas?

That sounds like wheelbearings to me. Do the front wheels spin smoothly?

Jack up the front of your truck until your tires clear. Grab the upper control arm and spin the tire by hand. Repeat for the other side. If the hub assy is bad you will feel the roughness resonate through your hand. Sounds like the passenger side front. Usually its the opposite side that you pull the steering wheel to make the sound get quieter that is bad. If its a 4wd with abs, plan on dishing out at least 150 dollars for a new hub assy and I dont recommend any brand besides a "National" hub assembly. Good luck!
