I think I want to know what an axil is. If it's what I think it is, don't buy it, its not worth it.

Also, don't buy it, its not worth it.

The old Isuzu's were very sell-able vehicles. The Rodeo was assembled in its joint venture Isuzu-Subaru plant in Lafayette, Indiana. When I started my job, I built supplier parts for the Rodeo.

Personally since it does NEED WORK, I would ask 500, I would buy it for 500. I just don't know how much that stuff will cost to fix.

I recommend you DON'T BUY IT, not for your use, but it would be GREAT as a project SUV! But you need something dependable, clearly that Isuzu is worn and needs some TLC, so after you buy it for 500, expect to put an additional 500 into it.

So look for a reputable car in the $1000 price range, it would be much better than the Rodeo.

My buddy has a 1991(ish... I think) Trooper. Camaro v6 with 400,000 clicks on it.

Tough as nails but if your are looking for a dependable transport pass. Looking for a touch of a project truck then it sounds pretty good.

not worth imo
better look for another ride before the rodeo

I learned to drive in a '90 or '91 Trooper. Grandma turned it on it's lid at less than 30 mph- stability was not it's strong suit. Chevy engine ran a little ragged, but it did keep on running. I think Grandpa lost fifth gear and had to replace the transmission, but I can't remember what happened.

My uncle had a '93 with the Isuzu engine. Very reliable for 200k miles- original engine, transmission, heck- even the original clutch...but it did like to overheat going down the highway, towards the end. He gave it to Grandpa, who promptly overheated it pulling a boat at 70+ mph, and seized up the engine.

I don't like Troopers, but they're solidly built, generally reliable and easy to fix.

That said...if you can't fix whatever's wrong with it yourself, I'd pass, too. As a general rule, $500 cars aren't worth it.

hey dont let any body tell you some thing they dont know :annoyed::annoyed: they are worth more than you think :headbang::headbang:they have a dana 44 rear some with disc brakes and all have no c clips so you have a great rear axle
and also have a 35 or 44 ifs up front and they wheel great:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

go ahead and get it:icon_cheers::icon_cheers::icon_cheers:

My buddy had an early 90's trooper, I was impressed at what that little rig could do - with no lift or performance mods, and he was not nice to it - he would totally trash that truck off road. He'd just bounce it off of rocks and more than once we'd have to upright it after he'd laid it over.

He literally drove that truck into the ground, but I tell you what - I havent seen hardly any truck since take that much abuse in stock form.

Yes they're ugly - especially the older ones, just a box on wheels, but I would give $500 for one - especially a newer v-6 version. You could go to a pick and pull junkyard and get the whole ifs front end for probably $200.

IMO, they're not a bad little rig

yeah ... if thats a 95 Rodeo ..... with a V6 ....... that should be a DOHC 3.2L ..... so its not a chevy engine ..... I looked at one and seriously considered it before buying the Sidekick....... I looked at the cost of major repairs on the 'Kick compared to the Rodeo .... bought the 'Kick...... My dad used to say "Anything that runs is worth $500"......... so you might have to put another $500 in it ...... then another $500 ........ Then another $500..... but that is how it goes with well used vehicles ...... I bought the 'Kick because the whole rebuild kit for the engine ...... including pistons and gaskets is $350........ I can swap a 5spd into it for for basically the cost of the clutch and pedal ..... I can sling the automatic on Ebay for $100 more than the 5spd costs ...... thats why I bought the 'Kick....... if I I hadn't found it I would have bought the Rodeo ...... but I was looking in the 2000 - 3000 dollar range ......

Run, Forrest, Run. Don't buy this POS. My old G/F's daughter had one and I ended up pulling the engine on the damn thing among about 1,000 other repairs. They are a nightmare to work on. They leak oil like crazy. The coolant doesn't run through the intake manifold, it runs underneath in metal pipes, and small rubber hoses that are damn near impossible to get to. Try removing the damn alternator if you want a fun filled afternoon! It also had to be cranked every three days or so or the battery would get pulled down by some electrical short no one ever could find. This thing was built by aliens- not illegals, the ones from outer space! It doesn't have a GM engine, but some of the parts (MAF sensor) do have GM on them. She had a 1995 model. I was so glad when she sold that hunk of garbage. If you buy this don't say I didn't warn you...
