There's oil residue on the throttle body. My current engine is good but I was thinking of buying this one just to have. No info on milage. It's from a 1994 2.3 ranger. Thoughts on the throttle body? Bad pcv or piston?

Oil on the throttle could be as dumb as a bad PCV valve, it's behind the alternator, it is the transition from a 3/4" hose to a 3/8" hose... other than that could be piston rings worn out too...

A '94 will bolt in, there's a few differences here and there but all your '89 parts will bolt to the block...

Thank you for all your help bro!
