The 55w bulbs will be getting replaced with 130W bulbs. The housings are aluminum, the reflectors are chrome plated die cast, and the lenses are glass so it will be able to take the heat.

I've tried big bulbs in little housings in the past with no success at all. After having multiple 100W bulbs turn all black & blue after even just an hour's use (even expensive high-quality ones), I finally realized the halogen bulbs themselves were overheating and cracking from being confined within such a small housing (there's just no airflow inside there). I had to go back to the 55W ones and no more problems. I ended up getting bigger lights and then 100W bulbs worked fine.

Anyway, I've been watching your build for awhile now and am totally diggin' the ingenuity going into it.

I'm curious to see how the wheelbearing grease fitting works out for you. The driveshaft painted like that I'm not so sure about though :icon_twisted:

Thanks Junkie. Since I already bought the 130w bulbs I will give them a try, I will keep the 55s as spares. We will see what happens.

One of my pet peeves with wheeling rigs is that most are jeeps, most are all the same, damn cookie cutter heep sitting on 33s with a bunch of damn 6" Hellas sticking out of the bumper like tumors........ I am trying to be as far away from that as possible. :icon_cheers:

Yeah dude, I love that jack. I am still pissed that I wasted it and dented it like I did.
