im trying to find a way to lift a crown vic to clear 33s or 35s but i can settle for 31s. They lift them for donks all the time and i found one that had a 3" lift and had 31" tires that where 12" wide. I found a 5" lift so could i clear 33X12.5 and you can get up to a 4' body lift for them so maybe 35s? This is going to be a dd for awhile but will probably lose the lift except for on special occassions. I found this 5" kit but it seems like it would cause suspension issues although i havent heard anybody say it does.

for $55 thats 5" and a body lift i could make for like $40. can anybody put any input on this. It will be a parade car maybe take it to trucks gone wild to show off in but not hit anything big just kinda cruise through some puddles.

I also want to do this cause when a dong pulls up blaring rap and thumping bass on there big shiny rims, i can let the country and rock blare sittin on a set of mudders. Plus its diferent just like me

The car already has an actual frame. Put 4wd parts in that frame and do a custom suspension setup. Probably safer than those really tall coil spacers.

Don't get a body lift, if you're going to do something to a car like that, get an all suspension lift.

i would do all suspension but thats gonna be like 1600, and i thought the spacers didnt seem quite safe but i havent heard of them failing or anything. im thinking the spacers then maybe a 1 puck hockey puck lift. then get some jy front fenders and cut them for clearance that way i can change it back to stock if i want to. but im going to check out a 1992 crown vic touring sedan, which is the top of top for 1992 and it has dual exhaust and 210hp :headbang: but i think the air bags where swapped for springs already, its a sweet burgundy color and is in pretty good shape but atleast one window regulator needs to be replaced which isnt a big deal.

another question if it has the bags, which i know are crap on these cars, can i space the air bag out and keep a 5" lift that then drops down after i park?

oh and a photoshop would be awesome.

what do you guys think is a fair price on a 1992 crown vic Touring sedan. If you dont know what a touring sedan is, then do some research and youll see why im so excited about it. I went to edmunds to get the blue book value which says about $1500 which i would gladly paay for it, it is in good shape on the outside the inside the leather isnt great but the rest looked fine and the wheels where dirty and looked pitted pretty good. I dont trust kbb very much lately cause the prices never seem to line up with actual market value.

heres a link for info on the touring sedan

ok so they ended up selling the touring sedan before i could get it, but a guy is supposed to buy my escort this friday and then im gonna buy dads crwon vic off him to do the lift to.

new question
i went to the upull it, only one around here, and they had one of the 80s-90s buicks with the forward tilt hood, i was wondering how difficult it would be to put that set up on the vic, im sure nobody here has done it but i know forward tilt hood conversions use to be pretty popular so does anybody have any idea what is involved in such a conversion. I would appreciate it.

Ps, still havent found anything bad about the 5" lift and i found a set of 33s for $100 or a set of 31s for $50 which do you guys think is better. Im leaning towards the 31s because they would be easier to clean to start with and my laptop is being worked on i have no clue what its gonna cost to fix.
