I have an 88 Ranger 2wd, and I am considering lifting it. I have a set of 15x8 inch American Racing wheels with 32x11.50 mud tires in great shape on my Explorer that I want to switch back to 17x9's on, so I will be using those on my Ranger. Will a 3-4 inch suspension lift and 2-3 inch body lift be enough to clear? I don't plan on any off-roading, well, maybe a little curb hopping and short-cuts through a couple of small ditches! I think it should fit, maybe a little trimming. Plus, do you see any problem with drop brackets for the I-beams and radius arms considering my intended usage? Any drop brackets would be heavily reinforced!

I have done nothing but crank the torsion bars on my 02 and im running 32x11.50s on 15x10 wheels so I would think with all that lift you should be fine. Mine only rub when fully turned.

Big difference between a newer model and an 88. My truck had 205/70/14's stock, like a 26 inch tall tire maximum. Plus the wheel wells are small, a 32 will not fit into the wheel well. Which is why it takes all that lift.
