Leveling Kit installed, Now I bounce!

I have an 04, 2wd, coil spring, ranger. Before I installed the 1in coil spring spacers (2.5 lift at the wheel) my truck passed the bounce test (<1.5sec bouncing after compessed). Now I bounce a wee bit >2seconds.

I am guessing my shocks are too short for my truck now? ...or is this just the price I pay for spring spacers?

I am not a shock connoisseur, I just want something that will work, <$60.

Your shocks are too short, buy new ones. My skyjacker ones are nice, they were about 80 bucks

The great thing about lifting a 2WD Ranger 2" is that it puts it at the height of a stock 4WD Ranger. Just shop around for those and you should meet your budget requirement.

How are the "Performance Twin Tube Shock By Fabtech - FTS711"?

Some places say I can use a "Rancho RS5000 Shock Absorber - RS5374" others don't give me the option.

Uhmmmm You don't need to cut anything. Aside from the height difference both the 2WD and 4WD shocks are identical.

Are we sure that the 04 4WD are good for just a 2' lift on a 2WD they seem atleast 4inches longer.

I held the new shocks up to the lower control arm mounting points and it is going to be close, but it looks like they will need to be ground out.

The new Shocks are installed. I did have to grind out the bottom 2 bolt holes on the shock. So instead of an eyelets they are a forks.

I took them for a spin on a hard packed gravel road with some pot holes. The differance is night and day!

If you use the old bolting hardwear on the bottom bolts you do not need to find washers to smush the bottom forks on.

Now lets see how they hold up long term... at $24.99 a pop i'm not that worried... unless a shock malfunction makes me crash. lol
