Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

I was thinking the same thing but figured Someone else would take over

Picked up my 87, dulley 60 yesterday. Pretty happy with it. Now I just need to either sorce some wheels with the right offset or get some standard hubs to swap the dulley hubs.

Looks like I have a lot of work infornt of me....gearing/building 2 more axles, engine swap, bed dovetail, fuel cell.....I can't wait!

You airshockin this one too??
SVT

Yes. The only time I plan on changing that up is when I back half it, 4 link it and put my air shocks back there and buy some coilovers for the front _

I think I have asked this, but what do you use to fill your shocks with?? I'm looking now for tanks and regulators to use to fill mine...Hopefully within the next week or two I'll have mine on and will be ready to fill em...
SVT

Why you switchin to coilovers??
SVT

I fill mine at my work with a big tank and a adaptor I made. I filled cheapthrillsb2 using the same adaptor but a smaller tank.

I am only switching the front to coilovers if I back half and 4 link the rear because I want the stability of a spring to help the body roll. I would run air shocks on all 4 corners but I like the idea of coilovers.

Did you use just a plain regulator and regular air chuck to go on the shock?? I'm looking at the NAL air chucks, but they are a little pricy for one vehicle use...
SVT

I used the regulator on the tank and a locking style air chuck. The set up I made has an on off valve in it, a 0 to 500 psi gauge and the air chuck. You fill your shock higher than you think you need, then let gas out till you get to the Psi you want. They are a pain to get just right.

The locking air chuck I have sucks too, it leaks a little if you don't hold it just right. I would like to get a thread on chuck or make one.

Well, tore the truck down today , I destroyed 2 more caps on the drivers side and my outer chromo on the passenger side is pretty messed up too. Ordered a new one, maybe I can get the old Yukon warranted? Good news, looks like my locker took the beating too so no need to do anything with that.

I think I am going to adjust my steering stops, looks like the joints are binding/hitting a little maybe that is the reason I am breaking caps everytime out.

there's still time to make it to TB next weekend with bray...........

you know you want to :D

I do want to!

They've got a fundraiser run, IIRC.

Your are right, I can't miss it either! It is a benefit for one of our club memebers, should be a pretty good turnout too.

Got my truck back together today, full chromoly front now with spicer 5-760x joints. I also tacked all the caps along with full circle clips. While putting it together I noticed my other good hub was broke too. So I put my drive flanges in, hope they hold, I'm out of spares LOL. So note to self, warn premium hub don't hold up too well for my set up, try something else next time. Lets go wheeling!
