I've burned through a few hundred dollars this week on the ext cab 4x4 5spd manual 2004 Ranger. So finally at 50,000 stock miles
looking to spend more now. just had a few questions. and as I actually am spending the money, and I'm not a patient fellow I'm open for ideas, because I like to buy on a whim.

For starters.

I got a spray in rhino-liner.
looking for a local tint shop for this weekend.

and

I want chrome rain visors... for my ext cab, I have noticed a lot of people only running the front window visors... i just can't dig it I guess.

i found those, are they the only ones that carry them in chrome? Holy cow they are expensive.

I just ordered a 3in body lift and gap guards....
figured I would just go down the list of standard things I do to a vehicle.

I grabbed a hitch reciever on Sunday.

And a few other subtle touch ups.
I would love to have a brush-guard but I am not paying 400 dollars for a lump of chrome that looks as poor as it functions.

Any bull bar suggestions?
in chrome or stainless.
I will definantly be needing (Fender Flares) in black. i know nothing about them... have never had a set. (the 04's don't have them stock on 4x4's)

any other suggestions would be great, I'm feeling rather free with the credit card this week. :shok:

I'll probably be swapping to a 15in wheel... with M/T's before long, but I don't dislike my 16in wheels.... I may just toss some swampers on them.

I would go with a Setina PB400 for the push bumper. Yes its more of a police style but I think they are only $200. Im not a fan of chrome anything either I have the black AVS guards on mine, they do their job and also blend in being black. Go with bushwacker fender flares front and back.

I'm not into bull bars, but the Westin looks okay, IMO.

I sort of see your point about the window visors. Having them just on the front makes the window look smaller top to bottom than the ex. cab window....which is kind of weird. But obviously on your truck having them over the back windows is going to serve no function, just "complete the look". Are you absolutely positively set on getting chrome? If you get the "smoked" kind, plus the tint you mentioned, they're not as noticeable.

What kind of hitch did you get? I ask because I still don't have one yet.:bawling:

If you have the chrome front bumper and dark gray plastic valance than the FX4 flares up to '05 will obviously look perfect.

I'm not much into chrome either but I only th ethe bull guards that come up the whole front of the truck not the tiny usless aluminum ones and of course I'd rather have a full brushguard but with a bodylift the parts that cover the headlights won't line up properly.

This is the bull guard I like from my old truck I could use it a pull point and have.

and this is the ones I don't under stand the point of the first time you would use this for anthing you would destroy it exept to hold some lights:

They are only really practical on the front windows, I use them alot to crack the windows for ventalation without the risk of rain getting in. I don't know how Rangers are but on my F-150 the rear of the back side windows pops out, the little ventshade thing along the top doesn't really do anything but compliment the looks of the front ones.

They look kinda neat on the outside (black visors on black truck) but the front ones do cut down on visablity quite a bit, I don't think I would buy a set on my own just because of that reason. They came with the truck, and I don't really want to rip them off...

Weathertech makes some window visors in "light smoke" color. It's not clear, but closer than anything else. They are in-channel and they worked real well on my dads 250, but I don't care for that extra piece that comes down by the mirror.
And on the '04 Ranger the back side windows are useless. They don't pop out, and you can't even see out of them while driving because of the monster seat headrests.

It's bolted directly to the frame. Honestly it looks stronger than the first picture - What is that one bolted to?

Its bolted using the bumper bolts and made of quarter inch thick steel and when you grabed it and shooke it the whole truck shook it was solid, those others are aluminum and when you grab and pull you can tell any real weight would bend and rip it off the mounting points might be solid the bar it self isn't.

Yes, I want to "complete the look" form is a function LOL.

I'm into chrome (not chrome gas doors though)

My dually was themed in diamond plate and chrome..... top to bottom.
I miss the look. but obviously (small truck, smaller proportions)

I am liking the bushwhackers, do they really cost 400 bucks?? or is that a mark-up?

I think I'm going to just go with those chrome rain-guards, I miss them on past vehicles.

btw: my white truck is done in complete black trim....
but for my black and metallic vehicles I like the shiny trim.

I'm digging the westin bull bar as well, I have got to keep searching for a photo of one on a ranger, I don't want to have to remove my tow hooks, like some do, bolted to the frame is a good thing.

The Reciever Hitch.... I went to Rural King, I didn't really pour over brand... only weld quality, acme maybe? got a class III reciever, a stainless 2in drop, and a 2in ball (all we run on farm) all in all $175 dollars..... i believe.

Hopefully, the truck will be coming together very nicely by August... just trying to pick up niceities as i go.

Jay what the heck is the deal with all the group banners and avatar? haha

If you want Chrome you might look into ebay Mex. or any shop that specilizes in Mexican themed trucks. but I really feel to top of the chrome window vents you really need to get the chrome tint. Hey just F-ing with you just don't care for Much chrome. Hell I even Painted the chrome in my headlight housing.

I have put a lot of trucks together... using both chrome, and black trims.
I think "My" build will come out tastefull.... as usual.

I'm just having trouble finding many manufacturers for Ranger parts that are worth a dang... it's like we're the forgotten genre.

Sorry they are so expinsve but Looking at the ones on the dodge look pretty good.

Hey thank you very much, I am buying them now actually.... lol.
that's 30 bucks cheaper than I have found other stampede ones.
they make a very good product.
They aren't a solid chrome... actually like a peppered chrome. I've had a set before.
