Just Plain Stupied

Let me summarize that previous post for our illiterate readers.

a 2.9 powered go kart would be a pretty wicked ride.

You just gave me a terrible idea of what to do with my 2.9 when I get my 4.0.

Worse yet, when I get my B2 and 5.0 it I might run both 2.9s in tandem for a 5.8L (354 CID) V-12:icon_welder::headbang::3gears:

my 5.8 is a 351m and every other 5.8 i saw was a 351 like windsors and cleveland, and i also have a spare 2.9 and 5speed trans with transfer case..:icon_welder:

Get a 2002 or later 4.0: much more HP. In fact the best one is for the 2010 Mustang.:yahoo:

I will grant that the Mustang SOHC is awesome but I was planning to go with a 96-ish engine. The OHV will be just fine for my purposes and much simpler to swap in than the SOHC. I was going to go earlier, but AllanD had to go spoil my fun by pointing out that the 91 (which I was going to get) doesn't have an EGR valve, and I have to have one for emissions.

But this is DG's build thread. We should really ask about how he's going to build his V-16 go-cart.

wait, what? this is a build thread. I thought it was a social thread that had cool pictures of a truck.

So DG, does all that foil interior paneling keep the alien signals outta your head?

I lined my truck up like that under the OE panels, but I don't think its enough, they still get in man.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahhahaaaaaaaa-------------to all of the above!

I'm going to pull thr pan offn the xmsn for the 5th time...that 4th/3rd kickdown switchis going in the trash this time....it's already had 4 chances to get it's act together......

good thing these V.A. drugs make dropping the pan fun every time....

EDIT:Monday A.M.; pan got pulled off last nite.....applied vacuum to Un-lock Vacuum switch...12 volts is going from the switch to all 3 pressure switchs in xmsn just like it's supposed to......BUT when I pressurize the 3rd or 4th gear pressure-switch like what happens when I'm going down the highway, the lock-up solenoid engages just like it should & starts heating up after a minute....causing the residual transmission fluid that has splashed on it to start SMOKING like a skillet of burned bacon!!!

I know....even on V.A. drugs.....that even though the solenoid is sitting in 5 qts. of transmisson fluid when the truck is going down the road.....this still aint a good thang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the aftermarket kits use their own lockout solenoid & switches & say hook it up to key-on/switched 12 volts...that's what I did....no workie!....... after about 15 minutes....fuse blows!!!!

Soooooooooo.....I searched the web for about 5 hours total & finally found a hand-drawn wiring diagram by some-one who added in a 12v .5 amp RESISTOR !!!!

Hmmmmm.....maybe dropping the amps down about 29.5 amps to .5 amps will keep the baco......solenoid from smoking....

It's rough being an old Veteran on dru......prescription meds......it's even roughrt....er when you're STUPIED....

Where's the nearest electronics store.....I 'm gonna buy several resistors with different amp ratings to find out which one keeps the lockout solenoid engage and smoke-less.....
