Just Plain Stupied

looks like i'll have a project going for the next few years.
thanks for the suggestions.

and i understand completely your med's issues.
i'm with government healthcare as well and don't understand why others want it so bad.

don't give up!

I am going to definately trial fit things and mock it up first. The 5.0 can only go so low before it hits the front crossmember, so that will be one limit. I may need to trim the bottom of the firewall to clear the bellhousing but I think I can work with the stock trans tunnel and mount the cab a little lower.(figure out how much lower & see if it's worth the delay)

I have the original title for the 94 ranger chassis and the vin plate as well, but didnt really think about the smog and safety rules it would have to meet. I checked when I originally bought about registering it as a kit (owner assembled) vehicle and at that time it only had to meet the minimum safety requirments (lights, turn signals, seat belts, etc). The other thought I had was to find an original 36 ford truck title and go from there. I have seen titles for sale on ebay before.

Did you buy the interior panels from Gil for the headliner and others?
Compared to "original cardboard" panels...Gil's were worth the xtra $

EDIT: back to the go-rajjj....I gotta cut the rheostat off the gas tank sending unit & tack it on upside down so the gas gauage will read correctly (i tried switchiing the wires on the back of the gauage, but all the needle would do is peg out full or empty...LOL)

No cruising yet!!!!!!!!!!

#2 & #3 cylinders are getting lots of spark but no fuel.....I just cleaned all the injectors about two months ago.....but the last couple days it's been running on 4 cylinders.....:annoyed:...hate to yank the fuel rail again.....

Also......welded the rheostat upside down on the tank unit & fuel guage works great now....(reversing wires/ground didn't work....go figure)

I've been runnin to town....about 3 miles each way...that's about it until I"m sure it's ready for a long trip...

A-A-A-N-N-D-D........I got the 4* Jegs axle shims in this morning (the main reason I didn't want to go on a long trip with the pinion angle off so much) .....it took an hour to drop the rear end/install shims/test drive...now the pinion isn't pointing up at the bed any more.....L O L

Tomorrow I'll try to put a hundred miles on it locally to make sure I'm in walking distance of friends & relatives...

Nice pic DG. Take it easy man now you can enjoy cruising the beast.

(sob) (sob) (sniff) (sniff) its so beautiful i cant believe you doorgunner built something so beautiful.

dg, if your son were here, he would smack you in the face for taking so long. grab a beer, and give you the biggest hug of your life.

im sorry for all the pain you went through building this truck. but just remeber one thing. jake would have wanted you to enjoy yourself and build and drive the rig. so do us all a favor.

when you get the bugs worked out, just drive off into the clouds man. dont have a care in your heart. just imagine jake being in that passenger seat with you. and the both of you having a grand ol'e time.

just go down that highway, wind in your hair, roar of the engine. and just be free my brother, because thats what building cars is about my friend. thats what its about.

you go enjoy yourself in that 36 there 'gunner, youve earned it. have a nice life my friend.:icon_thumby:

Blackwidow......I didn't know you were a Rhodes Scholar! you summed it up well!!!!!!!!

Now....out to the go-rajjj to put the diamonplate back in the bed since the tank sending unit gots the fuel guage pointing in the right direction now...and burn all that old gas outta the tank.....Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

Now that you built something great looking and worth keeping time to build something ugly and worth destroying.............demoliton derby car/truck (dont make it a ranger truck), makes sence to me.
