Just Plain Stupied

doorgunner, just put a fuel pressure regulator just before the carb, turn it down to roughly 6 psi. then your good to go.

Make sure it's a return style regulator as well. Won't know how well it will work, but I am going to try this on my carb swap too. If it doesn't work out, I will likely get an aftermarket Holley fuel pump and use it with the regulator that I have.

Just pulled my 2.9L last night as well, took 7 hours said and done...

Pete

thanks for the info
/let us know how it works(or not).
I'm tryin to keep everything OEM in the fuel systemplumbing
/Ijust wanna add in the carb-regulator while the sbc is in the Ranger til I rebuild the 2.9
(cept for the bad headgaskets, I'm hopin it's in good shape)
--bet ur glad to get the 2.9 outta there:headbang:

Note to me: use whitetrashdoc's crank-start idea/modify it by using a Ford crank-handle thru the lower radiator grill w/spring-loaded switch wired thru neutral safety switch to starter solenoid/switch to stay activated as long as handle is cranked(just for fun).:yahoo:

Note to me: check out FatMat sound deadening (recom'd by blackwidow67).....check

Note to me: install adjustable thermostat to electric fans.......check

Note to me: use return regulator w/fuel pressure gage b/twn carb & oem regulator.....check

Note to me: undercoat all body parts before assembling........check

Note to me: Rotate/ shim rear axle to match angle of rear drive shaft to stop differential from
bucking on take-off......check

Note to me: order door seals & fender-to-body & hood-to-body anti-chafing gaskets

Note to me: wire & install back-up lites............................check

Note to me: buy a fancy gas cap lid to put in the bed floor......WHAT???.........check

Note to me: don't mess with the new Moderators.....check

Note to me: center wheels in wheel-wells.....check

Note to me: install front/rear adjustable air-shocks................check

Note to me: re-connect 3 vacum lines................check

Note to me: weld support plates & tubing to ends of roll bars under cab & bolt to chassis

Note to me: add 2" thick soundproofing through-out cab before installing inner walls.....check

Note to me: splice in remote start/alarm/doorlocks b4 wrapping/tucking driver's side wiring under dash.....check

Note to me: test out oem versus Classic sending unit BEFORE installing in the tank (b-b-bo-o-o-m-m-m-m)....check/uncheck...gauge works, but won't go all the way to Empty(modified float arm)......check

Note to me: weld chrome Harley mufflers to exhaust pies before somebody steals em....check

Doing some bends for the back of cab to fit on each side of rear window (red-neck bender needs to be mounted on a work bench now that I know it'll bend .200" wall pipe:

Now to lift the roll cage until it touched the insulation and clamp it into place while i weld the frame braces in place. The rear cross-bar should fit right under the rear window.....

Tacked a few pieces together to see if I'm headed in the right direction.
