Prefers box-end wrenches over ratchets...

connnnn-cennnn-trate...connn-cennnn-trate! I'm gonna take this thing to Show & Tell at school Friday!!!!

Now we know why the headers turned out so good.(and all the while I didn't think she was paying attention! Next lesson: how to cross-pattern/ torque bolts.

Can't wait to set the engine in place
-think Ill let her get in there & mark the engine mount bolt pattern on the cross-member & the xmsn mount pattern on the xmsn brace...

(she works for corn dogs, popsicles, icecream cones)

do you have any problems kinking the tube with that bender? i tried one and it would kink the tube every time. what kind of tubing are you using?

It's not really a tubing bender so it will kink tubing since the die is not the right size for real tubing.
Since I couldn't afford 2 or 3 $K for the real thing since it's a 1 time only project, I got the cheapy bender & used .200 wall thickness 1.937 O.D. pipe to compensate for the real stuff
(yep, real tubing is/looks better, though).
As you can see in the pics, theres not much distortion in the bends.

You can also fill the tubing with sand & tape both ends closed with duct tape while you make the bends to keep distortion down to a minimum.

Also remember, this is an For Entertainment Purposes Only thread:icon_rofl:
careful attention should be paid to the fact that I may or may not know what I'm doing:icon_surprised:
(I always try to over-compensate when I know I'm not using the best method to get the job done: hence--.200 wall thickness...

Edit: Friday....2nd coat of primer is on & body man is taking extra vitamins to start sanding Monday!

Edit: Friday p.m.......Body man got 2nd coat on in a.m. & sanded down before I got there in p.m./maybe next week epoxy base coat will go
on!

Edit: wed./april 1st.. checked on cab... getting 3rd coat of primer....gonna rain rest of week! (rats!)

Edit: Fri./april 3rd...David the body man got it sanded again, saw sunshine/put on 4th coat primer

Edit: got my nerve up made a couple more bends & got the rear section of the roll cage started---rough, very rough
021.jpg

2 rear braces fit against back of cab & on both sides of rear window/front left&right braces fit behind door posts/need to cut lots of re-enforcement braces now, but I need the cab to fit braces

Edit: tues./april 7th....good weather last few days(despite predictions)...gonna check with David to
see how body-work is progressing

Edit: fri./apr. 9th.....body work is complete/epoxy base coat goes on next week
