were you worried?

I dropped out when I was 16 so I could join the Airforce (I turned 17 that summer)....... when I took it I got the distinct impression that any 8th grader could pass it.

yeah a little bit about the essay part to be honest bc i wasnt sure what to write about when they gave me my topic. that and there was an f word or three in there as well.

I never dropped out and finished school. Just now I need to work on my engineering degree.

CONGRATULATIONS! I bet you wish you had finished H.S. I know my boys said that after the fact! We all are proud you had the perserverance to accomplish this goal. :) :)

yeah im pretty stoked. i just never really cared about school though. either way i have my ged now so maybe ill be able to find a decent job for once.

more money= faster truck!

Congrats man!

When I met my wife, she didn't have a diploma or GED because her mom had constantly moved and she was helping raise the kids her sister dropped off on her mother. She always wanted to work on an ambulance. I got her the information to go get her GED and she did it. She went on to get her certification to be an EMT and now she's fullfilling her dream to work as an EMT on an ambulance.

She could have tested out for the GED in the beginning, but she wanted to take the class as a refresher and to learn things she had forgotten, or didn't know.

It's easy to drop out, but the fact is, very few drop back in. I'm glad you're one of the ones who did and got your GED.

For anyone who hasn't, it's never to late. My wife said there were a few 'older' people in her class getting their GED's when she was.

Hate to brake it to you. But you will need more schooling for those higher dollars. GED is only to get you started, a college education is what needed to get a better job.

Sad, but true... It's almost impossible to get a good job without some kind of degree... Hence why I'm stuck in school for another 12 years :annoyed:

right now we got PHDs applying for meter reader because there are no jobs here..... and that canadian crackwhore governor we have wants to shut down all our nuke and coal power plants......... about another 20,000 out of work.....

Good luck with and go to college ...... or the Army ...... the only way you could hope for a decent job in this economy.

Well, with a PhD., you always have to ability to go teach anywhere you can...

the problem with that ..... most schools (colleges excluded) wont hire a PHD.

Congradulations, you officially put a smudge on your resume that won't ever go away. Only super forward minded individuals care about highschool when they are there. I cared enough to pass. I may not have had a 3.5+ but I had decent grades, and I didn't care/try. Now that I'm in college, having to pay for my own college, I have a 3.5+. Good for you that you actually took the time to get the GED, but good luck in life. Unless you are very bright, and innovative, I don't see you making alot of money with just a GED. It's just the way the world works.

im planning on going back to school cor some type of trade. cnc, auto body, welding.... idk yet
