Also, if for some reason you run into EGT problems, a common swap is a 6.0 intercooler, as it is thicker than the 7.3. While Im on the topic, if you ever have to remove your turbo for any reason, do yourself a huge favor and swap in a NON-EPBV turbo pedestal, and NON-EBPV exhaust side turbo housing. Doing those 2 mods significantly affected how the EGT's reacted in my truck. There is a VERY noticeable drop in EGT's while towing (excess of 12 000 lbs) and even unloaded the EGT's take way longer to climb under WOT.
Glad to know i was thinking on the right track. I knew that simply butt welding wouldn't be sufficient, so sleeving, plug welding, and running a bead around each end of the sleeve will be done, should i have to extend the shaft.
Thanks for the info gents!
I am studying for my GMAT exam on the 23rd, so updates to all my projects are going to be minimal for these next 2 weeks. This is also why I only worked on this and the SD yesterday. (Took the Harley out with my pops and the ladies today. Was way too pretty not to)
Next saturday I have to adapt a 6.0 trans cooler to the 7.3, which isn't too big of a deal. Updates on the SD are on it's thread.
