Starting to get there... Dropped it off at the frame shop last night.

Also took the ol lady shootin for the first time

It rained and was too cold to paint the Frame on D, so hopefully tonight after work I can get some paint on it and start putting it all Back together.

To do list:
1. Swap interior
2. Rebuild axles
3. Replace the shock cans
4. Install the Powertrain
5. Fix dents and paint it.

Lot of work left to do...

Spent a little time while taking a break on the SD on this. We had some left over chassis black, so dad painted the frame and axles to get everything looking better. Also found out the steering rod on the 94 frame is too short and has a different fitting than the 01. So now I am going to try the 01 first, if that doesn't work, I'll cut a little out of the 01 and weld it to the 94 shaft.

I know this is could lead to a weak link, so I am hoping you guys can give suggestions on how to properly do this while keeping it safe and worry free (and not overly expensive of course)

Pictures of parts to be attached? If it looks as I imagine it does, cut, drill and sleeve it, then plug weld it.

Or just make a new one? Just don't butt weld it.

THIS. As little rotational force as it actually sees, I would make it work. Like Kyle said, cut/sleeve/plug weld. Have done so on more than one vehicle safely. Just dont butt weld it...

i always slide a pipe up the shaft bevel the edges of the two sides and butt weld it grind it down then slide the pipe over the joint amd weld that around the joint

Might also have to brace the steering shaft since u a using a 01 cab.

Glad to know i was thinking on the right track. I knew that simply butt welding wouldn't be sufficient, so sleeving, plug welding, and running a bead around each end of the sleeve will be done, should i have to extend the shaft.

I am studying for my GMAT exam on the 23rd, so updates to all my projects are going to be minimal for these next 2 weeks. This is also why I only worked on this and the SD yesterday. (Took the Harley out with my pops and the ladies today. Was way too pretty not to)

Next saturday I have to adapt a 6.0 trans cooler to the 7.3, which isn't too big of a deal. Updates on the SD are on it's thread.

Why is that? The 94 cab wasn't braced (that i could tell) I'm still using the 94 box if that makes any difference
