I poop in the furnace.
So my buddy needed my truck for the week to move tools to his new shop and I got his 07 wrangler... God this thing is an awful peice of junk. :icon_rofl: It drives like a sinking sailboat, I have to hit the shifter to get the neutral safety switch to work, it gets like 12mpg, every single warning light on the dash is on, and the roof leaks so bad if you do more than 40 you can't even hear the radio over the wind rushing in.

but to top it off I am already sick of other jeep weirdos giving me the dumb little wave as they pass me... I just started flipping them all off. Why do these people think driving a pile of crap means your in some secret society?

I have always likened driving a Wrangler to driving a rear-steer forklift at about 35 MPH. The forklift actually feels more stable.

I've though about buying one a few times, when good condition (body wise) ones have come up for sale cheap, because I like the I6, and I'd like something with a removable top, but I never do. I'd have to have a hard-top for it, and nobody ever seems to keep their hard tops, if they ever had them to begin with.

I don't know when they stopped using the ole 4.0 straight six, this thing has the 3.7 v6 and its an embarrassment. Its loud, slow, gets terrible mileage, and a nightmare to work on.

There are millions of vehicle enthusiasts who are just as dedicated to their "brand" as you are to yours. I've owned hundreds vehicles in my 70 years, all makes, brands, types, imports, domestic, even a Vega and Pinto (but never a Yugo). Each had something or some quality I liked, or I wouldn't have bought it. And yes, I have had several Jeeps, real Jeeps, not the Fiat made stuff that's out there now.
Jeep owners would look at your Ranger and ask "why would someone own a itty bitty old truck"?
Piece of crap to you, but his pride and joy. Never critize someone for their likes and dislikes...may come back to bite you in the arse.

I'm thinking 10 or 11 may have been the last year.

A guy I know here in town has a 17 4-door that he bought new with the 3.7 and the 6-speed manual. he doesn't seem to mind it.

My grandfather has a 13 4-door Taco with the 3.7 V6, and the plastic bed, and that thing feels horribly underpowered for what it is. I had to drive out to my uncle's place near Punxatawney and bring it back after my mom plowed into a deer and they had to use his F-250 to trailer her car home. I had the camp generator in the bed and the dog in the back seat, and that Taco did not like the load, especially on hills. It was very disappointing in comparison to my 4.0 Ranger towing a nearly identical 4.0 Ranger.

We used to have a nearby Ford dealer who also sold Jeeps, at a P&S meeting his service manager told me Jeeps were the biggest piece of junk they sold with the most loyal customers. Jeep started as a Willys during WW II, they couldn't build enough so Ford got into the act. Willys sold out to Kaiser, the AMC got Jeep, then Mopar/Benz bought AMC, then Fiat bought Mopar. I used to see Jeep Wagoneers with Mopar transmissions, prestolite ignition, a Motorcraft carb, and whatever else they could scrounge up. I'm glad somebody likes them because I can't. The Cherokee was the last surviving Rambler American wagon.

It is a Jeep thing, clearly you don't understand...

I think the 4.0 went away from the Wrangler (and I think everything by that point) when the JK came out around '07.

I got your Jeep thing, now it burns when I pee.

Ryan's Jeep is a JK. I think that was the first generation to have the 3.7 instead of the 4.0.

He does light trail riding with it, easy trails, snowy roads, etc and records it on his dash cam. I keep telling him he should start a YouTube channel and call it "Just JK'ing around" because he isn't doing any serious offroading.

I have thought about one, SUV's with ground clearance are hard to find.

I have no Jeep anything though.

06 was the last year of the ol 4.0.

Funny @Dirtman most the comments you made about the jeep sound about like what most people also say about Rangers. Lol.

I dont think their bad rigs by any means, just one of those like whatcha like things

I like the older (90's) jeeps especially the Cherokees. I would trade my truck straight up for an older jeep with the straight 6 4.0 and 200k (mines only got 119k) Those motors last forever with maintenance. Ol' guy at work has one and he has over 300k and runs like a champ. New jeeps look nice but that's about it. Never been a fan of Chrysler 3.7s.

Wasnt the 3.8 thatd been run in minivans forever used between the 4.0 and 3.7? In 2007?

My buddy had a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Total beast, tank, and war machine. Ugly AFTER. We couldn'tdestroy that thing as much as we tried to.

Phew! I first thought you said Willys sold out to THE Kaiser! (yeah wrong war I know). Thought this was some long-buried teachery for a moment!
