Well the ole B2 has finally became more expensive and in depth repairs needed than I can afford.

I found that the flywheel is damaged...thus the starter grinding issues, and so as a result it might start and it might not. I'm through throwing parts at it that I can't afford. The place I work has decided to close on Saturdays so now, I'm screwed even more for pay on an already low income. Its time for the B2 to go :bawling:. I don't have the time, patience, knowledge, shop, tools, etc to do the work needed to fix it then find out that might not fix it and need something else type thing. Its just time to let it go. Its been for sale for a week now, and haven't had any offers so I'm thinking if I can get it started one last time I'll drive it to the salvage yard :(.

Why is it, that its just a truck and I didn't buy it new, yet I feel so sad about having to let it go? Its a pile of crap inside and out yet why is it so hard to just let it go?

You do what you have to do. Sorry to hear about it tho.

Richard

That's the plan. Its at the point of no return now. The flywheel and starter were the last straw.

Shame but sometimes it just happens.especially when rust is involved.

Too bad you're not closer to Texas. I'd take it off your hands.

Where are you located? Plus you could always compression start it.

I'm in Idaho. I will be pull starting it on its last trip to get it to the salvage yard. :(.

I'm pretty sure the flywheel and starter are toast. That's the only thing it could be as to why it won't start. Tried a different starter same problem, tried another starter same problem. The grinding goes away for a while, then its back now it won't even engage the flywheel. It costs way too much money to have a shop take it apart to tell me what I already have a sneaky feeling about. The starter chewed up the teeth on the flywheel, and I'm wondering if the flywheel wasn't the right one to begin with, the previous owner did all sorts of crappy work to this thing, and I can't afford to keep putting money into it, and it sounds like where I'm working may not be open much longer so I may not have a job at all here really soon.

How much you were looking to sell it?

Its headed to the salvage yard tomorrow morning. Can't get enough out of it to cover the tires I put on it last year, nor all the time, blood, sweat, and tears over the past 2 years getting it going and driving it. Given the starter/flywheel issues it has, I'm done throwing time and money I don't have at it. Salvage yard is giving me $350 since I'm driving it over there tomorrow.

Damn I wish I was closer and had more time I would've bought it. Oh well man I'm really sorry either way. That sucks :(

Its sitting at Jalopy Jungle in Nampa, Idaho. Got $300 out of if :(. They'll make a few thousand off it easy in just glass, axles, transmission, transfer case, and engine.

Damn! I wish you lived closer makes me sad to see a b2 go..

It was a very long 30 mile drive last Saturday :bawling:. If I get another RBV in the future I'll get another Ranger I think, better functionality for what I need I think.

My first vehicle in high school was a 1984 Ford Ranger 4x2, 2.8L V6 automatic. Loved that truck, if I just knew about TRS back then I would still have that truck. Got rid of it because of the dreaded feedback computer problems, didn't know about the dura-spark option back then :(.
