Hello. Ok, so I have had many of the same codes popping up over and over and over for a while now. One drops...one comes back....but always codes.

*Codes:
*P1409
*P0402
*P0455
*P1309

*So. I have changed the DPFE 4x with no luck, had to put back the original metal one to ever work. Changed the EGR, even took a speedometer cable and cleaned out the line with a drill and sprayed it with carbon cleaner etc...I changed the fuel pump, the starter, complete tune-up, new cam sync and all 3 O2 sensors. New fuel cap, and I even changed the vapor cannister. ZIP....

*So, I got notice I had to get a Smog or else......so at Walmart I bought this product by chance. I filled my tank to the rim and added the whole bottle to the tank. Soon as I turned the key to start the truck the Check Engine light came off? I drove it 80 miles and PASSED SMOG.

*In Neveda you can fail one test to PASS. The EVAP takes long time to set the guy said so it can fail as you get one FAIL. So, The EVAP failed but I PASSED over all so got the certificate. After 280 Miles the OBD2 said the EVAP was now GREEN LIGHT and the I/M Readiness Test all Green Lights (never once before have I got this). Once it passed the I/M Test I knew it would pass SMOG also, right?

*So, is this some kind of "Snake Oil"...as I have never believed in "Quik Fixes" with "Additives"...but nothing else ever worked. I went from 220 miles a tank to 300 after 2 tanks......OBD2 still says ALL GOOD with NO Check Engine light after 500 miles....

Just my story....my own experience with this product. Alot of guys here seem to know a lot so I was seeing what the Heck this did to give me such results????

You may have had a sticky injector or two. Or some of them where squirting a stream instead of spraying. The engine can't burn liquid fuel very well, only atomized fuel.

There is a market for this stuff now, as well as fuel additives for diesel fuel. The fuel formulations the government is making them sell at the fuel stations are terrible. Older engines with carburetors really have a hard time with the newer fuels, but even fuel injection systems can have a hard time if it sits around for years and doesn't run much.

2 weeks ago I used some Dura Lube cat cleaner. within 250 miles the check engine like went out.
so I'm gonna say the stuff can work.

I can’t speak gor that particular product. But it is wise to use a fuel system/injector cleaner periodically. I use Lucas, personally.

Your codes are coming up as emission issues,as you are aware of. I do see one problem and feel you have created it. You filled your tank to the rim.I to use to do that. What happens when you do that, you are filling up the vent hose to your charcoal canister that pulls the fumes to the canister and eventually to the Intake system. I am thinking when you drive long enough that the vacuum from the canister to the Intake is eventually drying the canister out. On newer cars, when you are filling up, it is safe to round up to the next dollar or so but dont add it all the way to avoid flooding the canister.

On the other end of the spectrum, dont run your tank on empty, maybe an 1/8th tank as fuel is actually a cooling agent for the fuel pump. Yep, I have done that too and got real good at changing out in tank fuel pumps.

I have been looking into different fuel cleaners and curious as to which one actually works. I have used Seafoam and it seems to be doing good. Just recently tried Lucas for the first time.

I use Seafoam on small engines. If you can get it to run with the choke half-way on, it will suck the Seafoam through it and after about 15-20 minutes, it will start running bad. Low and behold, if you turn the choke completely off it's running good again.

Not successful 100% of the time, about 80%. Some carbs are really hard to unplug.

Warning: If you use pure Seafoam or mix it more than 50-50, it will make the engine smoke for a little while till it burns it out.
