Is a 1992 ford ranger worth fixing up

When you said "fixing up" I thought you meant restore/modify....but realized you mean "fixing" lol.

Anyways that's not such a bad laundry list, if you like the truck I say go for it. They're relatively easy to wrench on. Get a manual.

I'm sure I have 2 or 3 Haynes manuals, no idea where they are... they're nice for torque specs and familiarizing but I've gotten by with mainly TRS and the interwebz and I've been into almost everything...

I’m OCD enough that I buy shop manuals. Haynes and Chilton can’t hold a candle to them but they are better than nothing if you don’t have the cash for a shop manual.

At least get the EVTM.

Haha me too...and yea the technology age has made it much easier and quicker to obtain such information. But there's something about good old printed paper. I've had moments of me, my ranger, and it's book of secrets, solving mysteries together....but then again there are times it just says step 1: remove engine, Step 2: Replace part(s)...still if you love it, fix it. If not, throw it in the trash. Life's short. Bonsai!

And don't forget that smell. I love the musty old paper smell of the real manuals.
