Intake questions

i have a 2007 3.0L v6 just wondering about some intake quesitons.....

the K&N system is a little pricy, how would i be able to adapt the o2 sensors into a custom fab job?

would taking off the silencer and replacing the stock filter with a better one make any difference?

That threads about the full K&N CAI.. he just wants the drop in.

You can get the K&N filter and remove the silencer but from my experience the K&N filter does just fine so if you want to get it I won't say no (but some people don't like em.) As for removing the silencer you will probably end up losing power, I did it on mine and I noticed the exhaust tone was more aggressive and the intake whistled a bit but It felt sluggish. Some have said they felt it move faster but I think they were just listening to the sounds.

If you want to do anything I suggest an Exhaust, your more likely to gain any results with an exhaust then an intake swap. especially since the new 3.0 that you have has the best intake of the 3.0L's.

how much is the drop in filter and im doing exhaust the next time im home since i live 2 hours away at university...

going with a flowmaster 40 single in dual out with two tips coming out the side before the back tire as opposed to after it

Probably like 50 or 60 bucks is the normal rate for their filters.

Why do you want the sound? all it is, is a drop in filter. the only thing that will really come from it is the ability to keep cleaning it instead of buying new paper filters.

power can come later after im done school and dont have a bar tab to pay LOL
