Yesterday I installed the Dynomax 17317 2.5" exhaust system in about 2.5-3 hours. Some of that time was helping my mom with stuff over the phone.

I ordered up two Walker 2.5" lap-joint clamps (PN 33976) to use instead of the crush clamps that came with the kit and new Walker bolts (PN 36129) and springs for the catalytic converter connection.

All-in-all it went on really easy with no hassle at all. I did use my Milwaukee to cut through the pipe just after the muffler to help in removing the old system from the truck.

I was afraid the note of the exhaust might sound like those cars you hear with giant fart cans sticking out the back. But, nope, it's almost as quiet as the stock system which is kind of what I wanted. On the first cold start it is a bit louder but once the RPM's slow down it quiets down quite a bit. When driving and cruising it sounds just about the same as stock. But, if you put your foot to the floor it's a bit louder but not obnoxious. I actually quite like the sound. I'll have to get some video's of it soon.

Now I need to submit for my $50 rebate.

My truck currently has 2.5" pipe cat back with a Magnaflow welded chamber muffler on and a turn down. It has a little rumble at start-up and coming off low rpm, then it has a hum rolling down the road. I am going to order the tailpipe to that kit. It should take some of the noise out of the cab and camper...............though it is not what I call loud at all.

I want to add a camper shell, so I need to extend the exhaust.

Heh, I got that same sound and probably spent a fraction of what you guys did.

31" Thrush glass pack, a few adapters an elbow and a turn down, and a handful of clamps. I think I have less that $55 in it.

I will have about $120 into mine, $60 of that in the tailpipe.

I cut the intermediate pipe off before it necked down and welded up the new 2.5" pipe.
