ingrown toenails

hate the little bastards! i think i got most of it out a couple weeks ago, but its just not healing and its getting pretty painful. i occasionally soak in hot water with epsom salt, and clean it morning and night with peroxide. i usually put neosporin on it too but its just not healing!

any suggestions to help it heal quicker or at least rid the pain????

u have to take a strong antibiotic for that to heal. i had that problem in my toes, but i finnally got rid of it, i had a small surgery on both toes. painfull as hell, but worth it lol

You have to get a needle and drainthe puss to make it heal faster and feel better, it sux at first but will be better when your done.

theres no more puss! haha ive tried. its just not healing and hurts. and if you get the surgery, you cant wear shoes for a while can you?

Well, I actually went to the school doctor for this last year and here is what I was told:

1) wear sandals as much as possible for at least two weeks. If you have to wear work boots or something, take them off when you can.

2) Soak them for 30 min in hot water, then take a q-tip with the tip cut off and pick around it to make sure the nail is up over the skin.

3) The puss might not be coming out, but the infection might still be there. Antibiotics.

but yeah, those bitches suck, i've had 2 myself and it feels as though i'm gettin another. i soak them, then sterilize an exacto blade and "trim the fenders" lol, worked both times so far

I used to have issues with them constantly until I went to a foot doctor and they cut the edges of the nail out and they shoved sticks with acid on them to kill the nail bed into where the nail used to be. One foot they did both sides of the nail and the other foot they only did one.. I had them done probably a year in between and I will say that my foot killed the first 2 or 3 days after they did it.

Same thing I do... I wear my shoes for about 8 hours a day, and when I take them off I always make sure to get rid of all the puss and stuff that is in there, then soak them...

I've had both sides of my left nail removed by having a thin wedge jammed up the toe nail's side, cut down the edge, and having the roots burned. This, though, caused my toe nail to fall off and now it doesn't grow back correctly, it just kinda bunches up at the root.

Needless to say, I gotta rip it off once every 2 months or so. It hurts, but it's for the best...........

The 2 above are probably gonna get amputated..............

haha yeah i didnt think about some people with weak stomachs. things like this dont bother me TOO much. and yeah that sounds pretty painful. i dont want that!
