ingrown toenails


I've never had it that bad. What I do is run a file across the top of the nail to make the center portion thinner, similar to cutting the 'V', it keeps the edges from curling down into the flesh. Cutting straight across is good too, once you've trained yourself to not rip the nail off with your finger/nails.

You also have to have the right kind of clippers for keeping them away. A normal pinch clipper is your problem as they don't cut correctly. You need a side cutting clipper made specificly for ingrown toe problems. I have a pair of these and have been using them for years and mine never get infected if you cut them correctly and cut the corner with this tool. And do it every 2 weeks. Don't let them grow long enough that they get into the skin. Also a streight across cut helps some.
