**WHY** is the Dryer always on the Right, and the washer is always on the left?

When they design these homes, why do they do this?:icon_confused:

Dang it patch,I installed my set wrong.

good question... the only thing i can think is that we wash before we dry and we read from left to right. soooo maybe that has somethign to do with it.

hmm, i was the first one to install one in my house, and that is how they are aranged.... strange, very strange! ....maybe cause most people are right handed, and can put wet laundry in the dryer easier?

p.s. i wonder if its the same on the other side of the equator??? their toilets flush backwards, maybe their washer dryers are aranged backwards?? lol.

mine are accross from themselves, but i live in the dorms

Mine are not that way? Dryer on left, washer on right.

You think of some weird stuff, man.

What if they're stacked? If you look at them when you are bent to the right it would apppear that way too...but if you bend to the left , oh, wait...if you bend to the right and they are stacked washer on top dryer on bottom, no, wait, washer on bottom because it's heavier and dryer on top...

I guess it depends on where they put the pipes in the first place, but you can always use extended hoses to swap them...

this may be one of those existential quandaries for which there is no answer. assume the thinking man position:

it's the silly drafter's fault.. i only followed their drawing when building the house sorry....:icon_rofl:

The washer dryer set in my house has doors that open a certain way. The washer is on the left so you dont have to pull all the clothes around the doors. But, Yours may be different.

I got two sets of machines in my small apartment building (8 units). Both have the dryer on the left, but for each set, the doors open in different directions. Maybe God can clue in on this one.
