Not a big difference.
Chatting usually involves two people (you can have more than two, but generally a chat is between you and one other person and it's instant.
With a forum, multiple people can view and react to your posts - it's similar in a lot of ways.

It seems to me that My phone chimes even when I post. Is there a way to set it up so it does not chime telling me I just posted.

You would find that under Settings. Look for Sounds and Vibration/

Going to settings now to look at sounds and Vibration hopefully I can make it so it only chimes when someone else besides me posts.

In your TRS account settings, click on "preferences" and scroll down. You will be able to customize setting for alerts and push notifications there.

I don't click on links like that... far to many malicious people in the world these days.

As you work your way into this digital world... let caution be your guide. Be leary of clicking on links and email attachments unless you know the source. Scamming... data harvesting... and other malicious activity is a full time job of millions of loosers that would rather scam people then to earn an honest living.
