Curious, I have one installed on my 2.3, its got a valve and cap on it, its been giving me issues, I know I need to clean it. Got another IAC from the local yard, cleaned it, and realized there's no valve. The part numbers differ in the last 2 places, the existing is DA the yard IAC with no valve is BA.

Interchangeable? I don't trust the previous owners mechanical prowess, so I'm looking for a little help!

Cheers!

it shouldn't have a cap, I don't know what that's for... the bottom picture should be correct

Awesome. Then I'm assuming he used the incorrect one trying to correct the bad idle himself. Does anyone know if its a first Gen or 3rd or maybe its a 2.5? If I can identify it, I'll clean it up and give it to someone who needs it.

I thought there was functionally no difference. I know I read that here somewhere.

Well, I swapped the junkyard iac on, rough idle gone. Still have a cel, probably need to swap exhaust plugs, clean the intake manifold and clear the codes.

It may just be that this one is filthy, most likely the case. I was incorrect, its not a valve, its some kind of adjustment knob, such technical terms, I know.

Great! After thinking about it, I think that came from a newer ford vehicle. I remember someone saying they have a filter like thing under that cap...

Yeah, well, I'm half tempted to clean it, install it, and see if it functions in the same capacity.

Urge gone. Now, what to do with this thing. Tough to give away parts when you done know what they came out of
