I am gonna go ahead and impart a little wisdom here. I know how much it sucks to want to do something, but the reward of doing it the right way the first time far out weighs the consequences of having to wait. It took me nearly three years to collect all of my parts for my build, but I made it work and learned a lot along the way that made the final product so much better.

I replace u-bolts everytime. I can get them made locally for $7 a piece. I even went out and got new ones when I broke a leaf after one trip. Its just not worth the risk.

i agree. once theyve been tightened down and gotten some miles on them, theyre stretched out. even when you get new ones, ur suppoed to tighten them down again like 100 miles later. you really dont wanna cheap out here. i learned from experience stay away from the cheap ones from autozone too, they stretch BIG TIME. your rear end will be all over the place. other than that good luck, cant wait to see it all done:icon_cheers:

it will be, monday...i didnt have enough time today to do it, but i did get the tires off and see what ill need to do...the bolt on the leaf spring, how does that come off?

If you're referring to the center pin in the leaf pack then don't touch it you don't need to. On the other hand I'm with everyone else get new u-bolts. A few months ago when I did my axle swap I used the 5/8" ones that come with the ruffstuff kit and after I drove it around a bit I went back to recheck that everything was tight, sure enough I got a couple more turns on each one of those nuts and these u-bolts are much beefier than those stock ones. Do yourself a favor and don't cheap out.:icon_thumby:
