I want to remove the gear on my 2.0 distributor. I have removed the roll pin but rhe is still on there pretty tight. What do I need to do?

I think it just pulls off...but you may need to tap it a few times with a BFH...

I wondered where you got to...thought maybe you'd given up on the old beast...lol

I usually hang the dis upside down by the gear from a vice, then stick a punch in the shaft and beat it like a red-headed step child.

Just like ADSM said.

Just make sure that only the aluminum part of the distributor (where the cap screws to) is against something solid. The rotor shouldn't touch anything, otherwise, your efforts to pound the shaft out of the gear will be wasted.

Gear installation is best done with a 3/4" deep socket and the rotor resting against something solid. Make sure you do the best you can at lining up the holes for the roll pin.
