Welcome to TRS :)

To make it easier on yourself use a socket wrench on the Crankshaft Bolt, inside the crank pulley, to rotate the crank(engine) so the pointer is on #1 TDC, 0deg
THEN

You can take off distributor cap and look at where the ROTOR is pointed, it will be pointed at #1 or #5 spark plug wire on the cap
REMEMBER which one, or take a picture, this will make re-installing A LOT EASIER

At the base of the distributor there is a hold down bolt, head faces up, firewall side of distributor
That bolt and plate needs to come out

Its a setup that looks like this: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSNCtaaAkW5GzXUUKDkI-qb_YpsbvUtfHAsww&usqp=CAU

After its out pull distributor up, its lower shaft slides onto a rod that drives the oil pump, it can stick a bit
