How do I remove the ATV wheel spindle nuts?

I got a '96 Suzuki QuadRunner LTF250.

The rear wheel bearings are loose I would like to get in there and see if they need replacement. However the spindle nuts will not budge, I read the manual and it says nothing about left handed threads, so basically you loosen the nuts with the tires still on the ground and the brakes on.

...it's not budging, I used penetrol on the nut, nothing.

I am working first on the RH side, the threads look like they are RH threads, so I am trying to go lefty loosey. Even with a breaker bar and cheater pipe I am still having a hard time trying to keep the wheel from spinning.

Can I use a hammer impact tool(strike with a hammer, not air powered) on the spindle nut?
