First off thanks in advance for your help. I'ver never been into offroad, always been into to sports cars, but thought this might be cheaper. I got a Performance accesories kit from Kolton, but it doesn't have the steering shaft extension.
One of my questions is, did any of y'all have to use this (my rig is an 84).
Also it show to needing a longer lower rad hose, where did y'all get yours at? Also did any of y'all have problems getting the body bolts out and what did you do to get them out if you did? I'm really hoping that since mine has been a texas car all it's life and was dormant more than driven (only has 50,600 original miles).
I'm looking for any advice from experience y'all can give me.

Hello,
On my 88 I have a 3 inch body lift and all mine needed was the steering extension bar, hoses were not a problem but I know the 2.8 motors have quite a bit different arrangement on the cooling front so you might indeed need a longer hose. Just ask at the parts place and they should be able to hook you up. As you are likely to see in other posts, soak those bolts in some type of penitrent as they a most likely rusted into one piece of metal. My truck was an Alaska truck and the body mounts and frame mounts were perfect but the bolts were not. The ones at the very back and the radiator had to be cut. I got the front ones with a saws-all and the back ones I cut and X into the top of the bolt head and then knocked it off with a hammer and cols chisel so the whole bolt assembly fell out from the bottom. The rest either broke and fell out or came out with a lot of ¾ drive persuasion. Use a bit of anti-seize on the new bolts, just in case you ever want to take the lift back out. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. The steering ext is not in there, so that's a bummer. May have to get ahold of PA and see if I can buy one from them.

i bought the kit from LMCtruck, but it never came with an extension. i went and double checked mine today for you and (at least on an 87) i cant find anything that is an extension on it.

Anyone out there with an 84 Bii and a 3in bodylift that can chime in???
if anything this will Bump you up to the top again.

Thanks kolton. hey I was gonna text you and ask that next time you go to a junkyard see how much a pair of explorer rear springs would be please. Thanks

Check the parking brake cable and ground straps for binding when you start lifting the cab.

Contact the company you got the kit from and advise them you are missing the steering extension shaft, they should send you one free of charge

I bought the kit a few years ago. But ill give it a try. Well see. And rear springs from an explorer "new" from LMC are 100 bucks plus shipping. Last time I bought some from a junkyard I paid 50 bucks for the pair.

Yes, LMCtruck sells body mounts, even a poly kit for it.

it should have came with a steering shaft extender mine did. i put mine on and didnt have to change hoses or anything else except the steering shaft.
