I have a 2003 Ranger and recently I have been having problems with high idle. After a few minutes of driving when I push the clutch in it revs up to 3000 RPM or so. it will do it with the air conditioning on and off. Is this normal? I’m not much of a mechanic so I really need some help thank you.

it is not normal.
my 2005 did that occasionally several years ago. I'd goose it a couple times and it usually settled down. ran some Seafoam thru it, cleaned the IAC, re-set the electrical connector on the IAC several times to clean the contacts.
it stopped doing it without a solid reason of what fixed it.

Look for a bad, missing of loose hose connection.
3,000rpms is a 1/2" or so connection of unmetered air - PCV or Evap...

It seems like some days it, Sometimes it doesn’t. And today when the engine was warmed up and after driving for about 10 minutes it started to do it.

I have the same issue. I replaced the IAC in it because the code 1506 came up. I thought I reset the computer but maybe not. What is an easy way to reset the computer? Negative charge on the battery? Also can too much transmission fluid cause a problem like that?

P.S. I don’t have A/C so not sure how to drive it so that the computer will read the new IAC

I’m having a high idle on startup but goes away almost immediately. Think I should replace the IAC?

High idle on start up that goes away very quickly is normal, quickly being 1 minute of so? Is it not?

My 3.0 did it for a year. replaced the iac 3 times, same thing. I put an alt on it Monday . IT HAS NOT REVED UP SINCE. The alt was putting out 14.2 volts but amps were down. The battery light was coming on at times too
