What bulb do I need in order to do this? Alot of the kits say that it is an H3 bulb, but in the owners manual it says something like 9145? or something like that.

why would you like to do this? do you still intend to use them as fog lights or just for more light. because switching to an HID will actually decrease visibility in fog

Not if you use a lower kelvin. Say like 3000k -5000k. And a 35w kit also helps. A 55w HID kit would be overkill for those small fog lights.

i believe that it will still be a much whiter light than most true fog lights, thus creating more reflection back into your eyes. make sure you aim them correctly to get the most out of them. as for me, i'll be sticking with my yellow fog lights for the pea soup stuff we get around here.

anyone used the truely yellow HIDs for fogs? do they work well?

What you see in front of you will look similar to this:

Basically a thread on how to retrofit to HID.

Just so you are aware HID in the headlights or fog lights are illegal and are actually dangerous. You blind on coming cars which is not smart at all.

I have heard all that stuff about them being illegal. My friend had them in his red Mustang and never got bothered.

Just wanted to make sure you knew. Ive had friends that have had their HIDs smashed out before.

Damn, alot of people around here run them...hell they come stock in Escalades and similar vehicles

Those cars might have ECE lighting or E-Code. It has a similar pattern to a HID headlight. Looks really nice against a flat wall but may get some time to get used to it if you do happen to have a newer vehicle with ECE lighting. I've driven a vehicle with ECE style lighting and must say I really like it. Plus HIDs in that style of housing won't glare like a normal DOT housing. With that in mind.........

European lighting standards are better than the U.S. :annoyed:

I have noticed lol. I guess I shouldn't worry about getting the hi/lows for the headlights then
