Hello I have been reading some of the post and hoping someone can help.
First let me give you some info on my truck
1999 Ford ranger XLT 4x4 with 4.0 And approximately 153000 miles. The 4wheel drive was having issues so we changed it from vacuum to manual hubs so it thinks it has a vacuum leak. But that's not the issue.
One day I went to start it and it didn't want to start. Then it started and stalled.but started back up. Ran fine to store and a couple places. Next day it wouldn't start at all. It would crank but it wouldn't turn over. I checked to see if I could hear the fuel pump engaging and I did so a friend of mine said it is probably the coil pack so we got a coil pack we put that on it started right up. And I didn't go anywhere for a few days but when I did it started right up I went to drop some stuff off got gas got a few things from the store drove to my friend's house for a visit and when I pulled in of course she said something was leaking which was transmission fluid I was an old old hose so got that fixed and wow the guy was fixing it it started up every time fine. A few days later when I got ready to leave to come home it wouldn't start it would crank but it would not turn over checked again fuel pump was engaging so I went and bought a brand new coil pack put it in and it still won't start the guy tested it and maybe he tested it wrong we're not sure we googled it cuz every parts place that I had to go to a repair shop to get it checked and when he checked it he got a reading of 12 volts so we're assuming that both of the coil packs were still good so that wasn't the issue but I don't know maybe we checked it wrong cuz somebody said I probably got a brand new bad coil pack it happens so but anyways if you tested it right he got it 12 12 volt at the coil pack but when he test it by the spark plugs it's not getting spark to the spark plugs so that's basically all I've got is the fact that if you test it the coil pack right it's 12 volts but there's no spark to the spark plugs I ain't got a lot of money to put into this truck I just lost my job and stuff so but I need my truck any ideas any help it'd be great thanks guys
I tried to cover everything maybe I covered too much but any other questions just feel free to ask me
Thank youBonnie
